As an outdoor athlete, I’ve learned that building strength requires acknowledging and confronting weaknesses. Mental, emotional, and spiritual pain is no different. The way out is through, and we become stronger in the process. I came to therapy because nothing else worked. I’ve lived in a body that revolted. Maybe you’ve tried therapy before and been frustrated. Maybe you’re discouraged you can’t seem to shake that thing you’ve carried for years. I’ve been there. I understand trying to solve things yourself and failing. Asking for help is not weak, but extremely brave. My job is to help you access your innate ability to heal.
I base my work in IFS, Brain-Spotting, and somatic experiencing. I integrate CBT, EFT, ACT, solution-focused therapy, client strengths, and other mindfulness practices. If talk therapy does not work for you, body-focused work may be more helpful. Your body knows what your brain may be unable to verbalize. My work is about holistic integration.
I was a wilderness guide and educator for years. My experiences in nature showed the healing that is possible when people connect with nature and community. There is great power in naming who you are and the strengths you possess. My work is about identity formation: finding the you that has been lost due to pain, trauma, or as a necessity for survival.
