Katelyn Stauffer, ACMHC
I enjoy helping teens, adults, and couples work through the inevitable challenges of life, including anxiety, trauma, depression, autism, relationship issues, life changes, divorce, betrayal, and more, We often discover we want more: more authenticity, more love, more alignment, more healing, more truth. Counseling can be a place to come home to yourself while you wade through change. I hope to offer you the empathy that can only come from lived experience rebuilding my own life.
I use various interventions and modalities with clients including ACT, attachment-based therapy, CBT, DBT, IFS, and EFT. As your counselor, I strive to partner with you to identify what you are feeling, finding the pieces of yourself that have been neglected, and learning to accept what you can no longer control. This passage sums up my thoughts:
“First, you must realize you’re homesick for all the lives you’re not living. Then, you must commit to the road and the rising loneliness. To the sincere thrill of coming apart. Divorce yourself from routine and control. Instead, find a desert and fall in. Take the trail that promises a view.” – Joy Sullivan, Instructions for Traveling West.
